A debate organized in collaboration by MAIRE Foundation and the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Holy See took place at Casa Litta-Palazzo Orsini, focusing on the theme of the Holy Father’s encyclical “Laudato Sì”. The discussion aimed to highlight the synergy between the teachings presented in the encyclical and the energy transition, understood as an opportunity for cultural, social, economic, and environmental evolution, representing the most current and complex challenge humanity needs to face.
“I am very grateful to the MAIRE Foundation for the idea of holding the presentation of the report on the opportunities for training and social and employment inclusion offered, and required, by the energy transition here at this Embassy. By directly referencing the encyclical Laudato Sì, the MAIRE Foundation emphasizes the original and vibrant connection between the Church’s Magisterium and the efforts of a major enterprise for the protection of the Common Good. This is a new and important fact.”
With these words, Ambassador Antonio Zanardi Landi welcomed the guests and opened the meeting, which featured participation and contributions from Matteo Piantedosi, Minister of the Interior; Fabrizio Di Amato, founder and President of the MAIRE Tecnimont Group and President of the Foundation and the MAIRE Group; Ilaria Catastini, General Director of the MAIRE Foundation; Father Enzo Fortunato, Franciscan, Director of Communications at the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican; and Cristina Finocchi Mahne, member of the Advisory Board of Fordham Gabelli School of Business NYC and lecturer at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.
