Humanitarian Activities

After the restoration of Casa Litta - Palazzo Orsini at Teatro Marcello, completed between the end of 2019 and the whole of 2020 where the Embassy has its headquarters, thanks to the generous support of a group of Italian and foreign friends and sponsors, the Embassy itself has resumed its activities hosting an increasing number of events and donating the resulting contributions to the direct support of a number of charitable and assistance works

Visit of Members from the Pontifical University of Saint Anselm

The Order’s Embassy to the Holy See has opened the doors of Casa Litta-Palazzo Orsini to a group of professors and researchers from the Pontifical University of Saint Anselm, led by Rector Prof. Bernhard A. Eckerstorfer, O.S.B. The group was welcomed by the Minister Counsellor of the Embassy, Prince Alessandrojacopo Boncompagni Ludovisi, and during the visit were illustrated the most recent Charitable Projects supported by the Embassy and the Order of Malta’s millennial activity.

The International Conference: “Religious Freedom and Human Integral Development”

“Religious Freedom and Human Integral Development” is the theme of an international conference that took place today at the extraterritorial seat of the Order of Malta on the Aventine. The conference was organized jointly by the Embassy of the Order to the Holy See, the Atlantic Council, Notre Dame University, University of Sussex, John Cabot University, and the Pontifical Urban University. The conference was attended by about sixty university professors and researchers from 19 countries, representatives of governments and religions, as well as personalities from the Holy See and the Order of Malta, and a few others invitees. It focuses one among the most delicate global issues as in many countries there are restrictions on religious freedom and worship.

Presentation at Casa Litta-Palazzo Orsini of the new edition of “De Europa” by Enea Silvio Piccolomini

The Embassy of the Order of Malta to the Holy See, with IF Press and in collaboration with Fr Manlio Sodi, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, presents a new edition of the "De Europa" by Enea Silvio Piccolomini, who became Pope under the name of Pius II. The volume was presented at the Embassy (Casa Litta-Palazzo Orsini, Via di Monte Savello 30) on Wednesday, May 15 by His Eminence Card. Ravasi and by the President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court Prof. Giuliano Amato, with the participation of HE the Grand Chancellor Prof. Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo and HMEH the Grand Master of the Order of Malta Frà John T. Dunlap.

Photo Exhibition of St. Pio from Pietrelcina

The Embassy to the Holy See hosted a photographic exhibition organized by the "Saint Pio Foundation", displaying in the premises of Casa Litta -Palazzo Orsini some photographs of the Saint Pio from Pietrelcina, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the beatification of the Capuchin friar and the 10th anniversary of the Saint Pius Foundation.

Cardinal Christophe Louis Yves Georges Pierre, Bailiff Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion of the Order of Malta

Supporters of the Tommaso D’Aquino College of Los Angeles visiting the S.M.O. Embassy of Malta to the Holy See

During teh morning of April 18th the Order of Malta’s Embassy to the Holy See hosted a group of supporters of the Thomas Aquinas College in Los Angeles, accompanied by HE Michael Grace, Member of the Sovereign Council of the Orderd and President of the Order of Malta’s Committee on Designations and Emblems.

Alliance of the Orders of Saint John meets in Rome with Order of Malta

The four Orders of Saint John of Jerusalem, associated in the "Alliance" of the Orders of Saint John, who share with the Order of Malta the historical tradition and vocation of caring for the sick and the poor, gathered in Rome on 12 and 13 April for two days of prayer, reflections and initiatives.
