Ambassador Zanardi Landi took part, as a member of the Delegation of H.E. the Grand Chancellor, at the 62° edition of the Munich Security Conference, which brought together heads of state and government, ministers, and senior institutional representatives of the international community to take stock of the main challenges in foreign policy and security.
The Sovereign Order of Malta actively participated in the Summit by organizing a high-level Side Event entitled “Aid for Plate: Joint Action for Global Food Security”, dedicated to global food security challenges, from the resilience of supply chains to the growing funding gap that threatens humanitarian and development interventions. The panel, moderated by Ismahane Elouafi, Executive Managing Director of CGIAR, was attended by several senior representatives of international institutions and organizations committed to protecting global food sustainability, including Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Food Programme (WFP), and Máximo Torrero Cullen, Chief Economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The Ambassador to the Holy Saint also took part in the work of the Conference which was attended by H E Reverend Mons Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See.
