Ambassador Antonio Zanardi Landi welcomed a group of students from LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome, opening the doors of the Embassy for a meeting with young people interested in the world of diplomacy and International Affairs, as well as in learning more about the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and its humanitarian diplomacy.
The Ambassador recounted episodes and key stages of his career as a Diplomat and as Ambassador of Italy and of the Order of Malta, sharing with the attentive and motivated students geopolitical analyses and practical advice drawn from his long service to Italy and to the Order.
Ample space was devoted to the role of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in the international arena, to its diplomatic and humanitarian contributions in Italy and around the world, to interreligious dialogue, and to relations with the Holy See and Italy. The many charitable works and activities carried out by the Embassy and by the Order in Italy—such as the GIOIA Project for young people with disabilities—and abroad—such as the Bethlehem Hospital and aid to wounded Ukrainians, to name just a few—aroused great interest, sparking in some students an initial curiosity about volunteer activities.
